The background, credentials, and commitment behind every client relationship.
Kyle Scott was born at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado. He attended Cache La Poudre Elementary, Cache La Poudre Junior High, and Poudre High School — a lifelong Coloradan with deep roots in the community he serves.
After graduating, Kyle attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado, where he pursued a degree designed to launch a career in stock brokerage and financial planning. In 2005 he graduated with a bachelor's degree in business finance.
Immediately upon graduation in August 2005, Kyle began his career in financial planning with a regional broker/dealer. After two years, in January 2008, he made the transition to an independent broker/dealer — giving him greater flexibility to serve clients without the constraints of a captive environment.
In February 2017, Kyle made what he describes as "hopefully the last middleman change for my practice." He became the President & Chief Operating Officer of Kyle S. Scott Financial Planning, Inc. — a Registered Investment Advisor firm allowing him to serve clients directly and cost-effectively.
Earning the CFP® (Certified Financial Planner™) designation was the primary goal of Kyle's post-graduate professional development. In June 2009, he began his studies — balancing family life, a growing practice, and intensive exam preparation.
After "some long hours," Kyle passed all examinations and fulfilled all requirements of the CFP® Board in June 2010. He has practiced as a Certified Financial Planner™ Practitioner ever since.
The CFP® Board holds its certificants to a strict code of conduct and clearly defines the role of a financial planner. As a CFP® practitioner, Kyle adheres to:
Kyle is the father of two — a son and a daughter. His family roots in Fort Collins run deep, and that connection to the community is reflected in his approach to client relationships: personal, local, and long-term.
